The Table of Nations (Genesis 10) -  Charles Fry

Thousands of years ago humanity was reduced to one small family starting over on a world reshaped by catastrophic events. From that family came all the languages, races, and cultures that we know in history and modern times. Whenever Paul preached to the Gentiles, he reminded them of that shared heritage of all human kind (Acts 14:15-17, 17:24-31), briefly recorded for the ages in Genesis 10-11. We will be exploring "the Table of Nations" and its place in the Bible story and our common human heritage.

The Prophet Hosea - John Morris

To our knowledge, Hosea was the only writing prophet from the Northern Kingdom to prophesy to the Northern Kingdom. Called to that labor in the days of Israel’s hastening demise, he went on to serve as God’s messenger for half a century. His messages were diverse, both near- and far-reaching, and in many ways timeless. During this 10-hour study, Hosea’s 14 chapters will be read in their entirety, and explored as time permits.

The Letter to the Hebrews - Eli Levi

First century Hebrew Christians were doubting and drifting from the faith, some even turning their backs on their Messiah altogether. The Hebrew letter was an inspired appeal to these souls to consider the consequences of such a decision. Full of powerful and persuasive arguments in defense of Jesus' messiahship, Hebrews remains an insightful and sobering read for Christians today. 10-hour study.

"A Glorious Church"? - Rick Sparks

This class deals with the interaction between the world and the American church over the past several decades. Where has the church successfully weathered the world's attacks, and where has she not--morally, philosophically, etc.? What have been the consequences of her successes/failures? What measures do we need to continue, and/or begin to take to attain/retain the church's purity? What, if any, are the new challenges/temptations of our generation/age? How much is really at stake in all of this?

Biblical Chronology - Dennis Stanley

This class will explore the chronological sequence of events and writings of the Bible. Synchronism between Biblical history and the prophetic and poetic writings of the Old Testament and the New Testament epistles will be discussed, as well as parallel events in secular world history. The focus will be on finding the many scriptural chronological references while consulting external sources as needed. Difficulties with establishing some details of Biblical chronology will be brought out and discussed, with suggested solutions.
